Finance & Business Operations Manager

High-growth AI startup at the center of the AI industry is looking for a Finance & Business Operations Manager to support their Chief of Staff. In this role, you'll own invoicing and collections, AR/AP, and reconciliation across the finance stack, plus contract and SOW administration and general commercial support. Someone who is detail-obsessed, systems-minded, and takes pride in getting the numbers exactly right. Someone who is comfortable owning a process end to end and flagging when something looks off before it becomes a problem. This is an in-office role, five days/week, based in San Francisco's Financial District. 130-160K DOE + equity, 401K with match, and 4 weeks PTO.

Responsibilities:

• Manage invoicing and collections, keeping receivables current and following up on outstanding payments.
• Own accounts payable and reconciliation across the company's finance stack.
• Administer contracts and statements of work, including tracking signatures, renewals, and key terms.
• Provide general commercial support to the Chief of Staff and leadership team, including reporting on run rate and financial trajectory.
• Interface directly with customer and vendor accounts payable teams to resolve payment and billing questions.
• Flag and help resolve discrepancies in invoices, reconciliations, or contracts before they become problems.

Qualifications:

• Previous 5+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting, or commercial operations, ideally at a high-growth startup.
• Extremely detail-oriented and systems-minded, with a strong eye for catching errors or inconsistencies.
• Comfortable owning a process end-to-end without needing it fully defined for you.
• Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
• Experience with accounting or finance tooling such as QuickBooks or similar systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Genuine interest in using AI tools to improve and automate operational processes is a plus.
