Job Description
IMEG is seeking a Commissioning Project Authority to join our Commissioning team in Los Angeles this role you will manage and support a variety of building commissioning (Cx) projects working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for moderate to complex facilities. Youll leverage your expertise in HVAC electrical and building automation systems to ensure high-performance code-compliant buildings utilizing tools such as Cx Alloy and MS Office Suite. Advance your career by driving commissioning excellence and shaping sustainable high-impact projects with a national leader in building systems innovation.Principal ResponsibilitiesManage and/or support multiple commissioning projects including client interface team coordination and schedule/budget managementAssist with completion of construction and renovation commissioning projectsPerform commissioning reviews of construction documents and equipment submittalsDevelop commissioning plans reports pre-functional checklists and functional performance test proceduresConduct functional testing of systems and assist with field testingPerform technical analysis of building operations (controls sequences etc.)Proactively communicate with a wide range of client stakeholdersPerform jobsite field observations write detailed field reports and lead commissioning meetingsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutionsMentor and develop less-experienced employees in a team-based atmosphereContribute to improving commissioning processes and best practicesRequired Qualifications and Skills Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent required 5 years of experience minimum required 6 preferred in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) consulting industry or equivalent Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferredOR Recognized Building Commissioning Certification preferred (or ability and desire to obtain one) 9 years of experience minimum required 10 preferred in Commissioning or in the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing (MEP) design consulting industry or equivalent Strong oral and written skills and a proven ability to interact professionally with a wide a range of clients Solid understanding of HVAC and electrical system designs and operations Working knowledge of building automation and lighting control systems Working knowledge of Cx Industry Standards (ASHRAE ACG BCxA) and code requirements Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CEC Title 24 ASHRAE IECC IMC NEC etc.) Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction documents (mechanical controls plumbing and electrical drawings specifications etc.) Proficient understanding of electrical and fire/life safety systems Knowledge of construction industry safety practices and procedures Troubleshooting of field devices and control hardware and software Capable of self-performing functional testing of building MEP systems Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word Excel and Outlook Skilled with PDF editors (Bluebeam Adobe) plus additional online project management software Ability to travel up to 30% (travel will depend on project needs and may vary widely)This position is not eligible for sponsorship.Why Join UsIMEG puts people firstwith a strong focus on career growth work-life balance and meaningful impact.
