Composite Structures Verification Engineer at Leidos

The Space Division at Leidos has an opening for a Composite Structures Verification Engineer to work in our Decatur AL facility. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the team to perform structural qualification testing on large hardware with up to 4 million pounds of load.Primary Responsibilities:This position will be responsible for assembly integration and evaluation activities for composite space structures systems and hardware. The candidate is required to perform planning execution scheduling and resource management. They will perform trade studies lead tooling and ground support equipment development lead logistic and transportation planning create plans and procedures support engineering review boards and interface with customers routinely. The candidate will work in an office and stand environment. Candidate will be required to ascend/descend stairs work in a non-environmentally controlled test stand and be able to lift up to fifty poundsBasic QualificationsRequires Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.Candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of related experience in the aerospace or structural testing.Extensive understanding of hydraulic systems load control systems instrumentation and data systems.Candidate will be required to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs in the test stand.Candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Preferred QualificationsAbility to work well with cross-functional teams design engineers analysts manufacturing project management and customer representativesExperience MOOG Control systemsExperience with HBM Data systemExcellent verbal/written communication skills and ability to work with multiple interfacesExperience in launch vehicle hardware and physical integrationIf youre looking for comfort keep scrolling.
