Compound Technician at PrideStaff
JOB DESCRIPTION
Compound Technician needed immediately,
PrideStaff is seeking a Compound Technician for a Northport, AL location.
The ideal candidate should have forklift experience and a strong willingness to learn, as the role involves working with heavy machinery and chemicals.
Pay Rate: $17.00
Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities
Process and Equipment Management: Monitor operational metrics and parameters, conduct basic troubleshooting, perform preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs, and assist in implementing process enhancements.
Compound System Maintenance: Oversee and manage required production compound levels, including operating, cleaning, and refilling the glycolysis bath, and servicing in-line filters for day tanks, ERA stations, and bulk tanks.
Quality and Adjustments: Execute solid stream tests to confirm compound reactivity is within acceptable tolerances. Track environmental conditions in the bulk storage area to ensure temperatures are maintained. Calculate and perform necessary color modifications.
Inventory and Logistics: Manage compound stock by receiving and logging all material types (pail, drum, tote, IBC, bulk), validating Certificates of Analysis, tracking batch numbers and expiration dates, and assisting with monthly chemical inventory counts.
Production Component Management: Collect, sanitize, test, and redeploy injectors, mixers, and nozzles across all production lines to ensure acceptable performance standards.
Shipping and Waste: Coordinate and prepare for waste drum and tote collection. Process and prepare shipping documentation for returned totes.
Safety and Compliance: Participate as a trained HAZWOPER team member for chemical spill response. Must maintain DOT certification for chemical unloading and signing shipment documentation.
Equipment Operation: Regular operation of a forklift is required.
