For information on the companys outstanding benefits culture and its talent-first flexible/remote work approach see below and visit the Role:Reporting to the Head Compounding Pharmacist the Compounding Lab Manager will be responsible for daily operations within the compounding labs in the pharmacy. You will support the scale-up of growing compounding capabilities as well as acting as a stakeholder in the development of new compounded treatments. You will strive to maximize quality and patient safety while dispensing medication in accordance with federal and state pharmacy regulations.You Will:Directly manage all patient-specific non-sterile compounding and responsible for patient-specific non-sterile compounding activities.Direct supervision of the compounding technicians and lab assistantsTrain all new compounding technicians on equipment and processes used in the labAbility to be immersed in the daily operation of a pharmacyMaster all the equipment in the lab and work with suppliers as necessary to optimize equipment outputWork with QA team to ensure quality of compounds and safety of employees in the compounding labOrganize track and maintain all documentation pertinent to the compounding labs. Environmental controls scale calibrations and hood certifications are includedIdentify all applicable regulatory agencies and laws for compliancePlans organizes and directs the development of compounding initiativesEnsure every critical check is accomplished every day for every single compoundStaff the non-sterile laboratories as needed with the highest level of competencyCreates project plans for the rollout and execution of new compounding initiatives.Service and satisfy professionals questions regarding compounded prescription needs.Provide counsel to professionals having questions or problems with compoundedDevelop training materials and other knowledge assessment verificationsMaintain study protocols and data relevant to compounded non-sterile productsReview/Revise/Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Understand Pharmacy Standards of PracticeYou Have:Bachelor of Science degree preferred3-5 years of experience in a front line leadership or supervisory roleMust be Familiar with USP chapters 795 and 800Experience working in a compounding pharmacy requiredFamiliarity with Computer Rx pharmacy softwareFamiliarity with pharmacy and in particular compounding SOPsPossess the ability to teach and train the pharmacy staffFluent in pharmacy operating systemsHighly organized and detail-orientedMust be able to communicate clearly professionally and effectively with staff and managementInventory management independently lead projects software training and supportEffective time management skills and a sense of urgency.Ability to multitask in a stressful environment.Good problem-solving abilities ability to focus in a busy environment and high attention to detail.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Pharmacy Technician Certification strongly preferredOur Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time rolesComprehensive health benefits including medical dental & vision and parental leaveEmployee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)Employee discounts on hims & hers online products401k benefits with employer matching contributionConditions of Employment:This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves respiratory protection gown and other items as required.This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators including N95 full face respirator SCBA or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).Physical exertion required. Including but not limited to walking up to 50% of the time standing up to 100% of the time squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift.
