Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers engineers policy experts and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.About the roleAs a Compute Analyst at Anthropic youll help us understand and navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI hardware. Working with our Compute Markets team youll maintain our internal database of upcoming chips and hardware roadmaps participate in discussions and negotiations with vendors and contribute to strategic analysis of our model training and inference posture. This role is ideal for someone who has developed strong instincts for semiconductor analysis and wants to apply that expertise directly to decisions at the frontier of AI development.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and expand our internal database tracking upcoming chips roadmaps and relevant hardware developments across the industryTake meetings with hardware vendors evaluating new offerings and surfacing relevant opportunities to the teamSupport strategic analysis of Anthropics compute posture including training and inference hardware decisionsMonitor industry developments synthesizing information from vendor announcements technical publications and market intelligenceCollaborate with infrastructure finance and technical teams to inform hardware procurement and capacity planning decisionsDevelop frameworks and models to compare hardware options across performance cost availability and strategic dimensionsYou may be a good fit if youHave 1-3 years of experience in semiconductor analysis compute market research or a related fieldPossess strong quantitative skills and can build models to evaluate hardware tradeoffsDemonstrate genuine curiosity about chips AI hardware and the compute landscapethe kind of person who reads vendor whitepapers for funCan communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesAre highly organized and can maintain detailed accurate records across a complex and fast-moving spaceThrive in ambiguous environments and can operate independently while knowing when to escalateIts a bonus if youHave direct experience analyzing GPUs TPUs or custom AI acceleratorsUnderstand the technical fundamentals of model training and inference workloadsHave existing relationships with hardware vendors or industry contactsAre familiar with supply chain dynamics fab capacity and semiconductor economicsHave written publicly about compute markets or AI hardwareThe expectedbase compensation for this position is below. Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity benefits and may include incentive compensation.Annual Salary:$280000 - $320000 USDLogisticsEducation requirements: We require at least a Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.Location-based hybrid policy: Currently we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However some roles may require more time in our offices.Visa sponsorship:We do sponsor visas! However we arent able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate.
