Job Details Kalispell MT Part Time Bachelor Concurrent EnrollmentJob Description This position is open to candidates from any Montana high school.Concurrent Enrollment OnlySUMMARYThis is a temporary non-benefit eligible position and employment is determined on a course by course contract basis. Courses may include alternative delivery methods; day evening or weekend times.ESSENTIAL DUTIESConveys knowledge of the subject area in an effective manner in classroom and lab for successful student learning outcomesProvides guidance and direction necessary to allow students to achieve pre-established course objectives.Acts as an advocate of the philosophy and policies of the College both in and out of the classroom/clinical.Fosters positive student and community relationsMaintains and submits instructional records in accordance with requirementsIntegrates subject area with other related curriculaMaintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policiesWorks professionally with college faculty and staff to aid with the educational process.Remains current in practices trends and research related to areas of assignmentAttends meetings and participates in student and/or program assessment as directedPerforms other related duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust meet Montana Board of Regents Hiring Policy Number 740Must be a current Licensed Montana EducatorPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious teaching experience in classroomWork experience in simulationsCourses in teaching methods testing and evaluationExperience teaching in a secondary post-secondary or higher education environmentExperience in differentiated instruction for diverse student populationsKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to effectively and safely teach content and technical materialEffective organizational and leadership skills;Working knowledge of use of technology in a learning environmentAbility and willingness to serve as a representative for the College by interacting appropriately with the community and studentsAbility to work within policies and procedures of FVCCAbility to maintain effective and positive professional relationshipsAbility to follow and issue instructionsDemonstrated communication presentation educational service and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgroundsAbility to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levelsAbility to pass a criminal background checkAbility to perform a Medium Duty job according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
