Job Description

Within the role of Configuration Analyst you will support a highly visible Defense Aviation Joint Program Office (JPO) responsible for managing a major defense weapon system development. The F-35 Join Strike Fighter is a multi-role fighter current in operations for the USAF US Navy USMC and selected allies. You will perform critical configuration management functions to ensure program success.Hiring Timeframe:ImmediateWork Location:This position is a hybrid rolein Arlington Sense will support your commute by contributing over $1500 annually to your Transportation FSA.Responsibilities:Perform critical configuration management technical or business analysis of major DoD acquisition systems and provides recommendations to ensure program successParticipates as a member of and/or supports the overall PMOApply knowledge of the principles policies and practices of configuration management performance logisticsand systems acquisition to inform the planning organization and coordination of critical aspects of the development production deployment and sustainment of aircraftsystems subsystems and equipmentRequired Qualifications:Active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain access to information protected under Special Access Programs.EducationRequirement:Bachelors degree in Engineering S&T Business Management or related disciplineOR Associates Degree plus four (4) years of additional relevant work experienceWork Experience Requirements:At least three (3) years out of the prior six (6) years experience in Configuration Management (CM) of aircraft systemsAt least six (6) years of recent work experience program or systems development production and/or deployment and sustainmentDemonstrated knowledge and/or familiarity with the DoD 5000 (Operation of the Defense Acquisition System) series of policy and guidance Federal and DoD acquisition regulationsDemonstrated program experience in the configuration management process must include: configuration identification control audit and status; DOD configuration management policies procedures review cycles instructions and standards; engineering change proposal evaluationsDemonstrated CM experience with development production ancillary equipment ground support equipment test & evaluation and fleet operations of a DoD and international acquisition aircraft programExperience evaluating Major Variance Requests Specification Change Notices Engineering Change Requests/Proposals Manufacturing Build Records Sustainment as Maintained Records and other documentsDemonstrated experience in providing guidance and assistance in configuration management and change control and ensuring that all Class I (Major) changes and variances are properly processed and dispositionedDemonstrated experience in collecting and maintaining process metrics and reporting techniques to ensure compliance with DOD level Data Management Program policies and proceduresMust be a U.S. CitizenStrong oral and written communication skillsFocus on customer service and responsiveness with sound customer handling skillsPreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Configuration Management StandardSAE EIA-649BtheSAEGEIA-Handbook (HDBK)-649AConfiguration Management Standard Implementation GuideandMIL-HDBK-61BConfiguration Management GuidanceCompletion of DAU LOG 2040 Configuration Management or related Logistics Management courses5thGeneration Fighter acquisition management experienceF-35 Lightning II program knowledge and expertiseExperience with and knowledge of acquisition challenges associated with a Contractor Supported Weapon System (CSWS)Salary Range:The proposedsalary range for this position is $100000- $120000per year.
