Under general supervision this position conducts detailed inspections of construction sites evaluates materials and workmanship monitors contractor compliance and prepares comprehensive project reports. As a liaison between the City contractors engineers and property owners the Construction Inspector plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards addressing issues that arise and ensuring the projects meet safety and performance standards. They will be skilled at conducting detailed inspections of public works and capital projects ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical abilities to interpret construction plans and documents make sound recommendations and effectively utilize tools and techniques for testing surveying and inspection. With exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills they will be capable of drafting precise inspection reports and maintaining thorough project records. Additionally the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills to engage professionally with contractors City staff and external stakeholders while exhibiting adaptability and judgment to address dynamic field conditions.
