Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Advance Testing Company, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Construction Materials Technician to work on projects in the Northeastern United States.Advance Testing, an established New York-based construction materials testing and inspection firm, has opportunities available for individuals to perform testing and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry and asphalt. Typical assignments include projects related to construction of roads, bridges, airports, tunnels, commercial and industrial buildings, schools, government and military sites, and material fabrication and production facilities.Successful candidates will be trained and certified to perform sampling and testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt materials on construction sites and in a laboratory setting through locally and nationally recognized programs. Once trained and certified, employees are considered full-fledged Construction Materials Technicians.Construction Materials Technician – RESPONSIBLITIESObserve work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials used conform to approved drawings and specifications.Perform standard testing of materials.Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and complete clear, accurate reports daily.Prepare sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites.Other related duties may be assigned.Construction Materials Technician - QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalentAS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or similar, OR completed coursework toward a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or similar;Experience with construction materials testing and/or construction industry preferred (will be trained)Strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocolsMust be detail oriented and able to work independentlyMust be able to travel and to perform site visitsRequires a valid, clean driver’s licenseApplicants may be required to obtain any security clearances and background confirmation for sensitive projects and locations.Construction Materials Technician - COMPETITIVE SALARY AND BENEFITS PACKAGEIn addition to providing competitive salaries, Advance Testing Company, Inc. offers a wide range of benefit options, including:Overtime offered at time and a halfComprehensive group medical insurance, including health, prescription, dental, visionFlexible spending accounts for medical expenses and dependent careCompany paid offset to out of pocket health insurance and prescription costsOpportunities for professional growth and advancementPaid time off and sick daysCompany–observed paid holidaysPaid training and certificationAFLAC Plans including short and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, et al.401(k) Retirement Savings PlanSalary Range $18-22 per hourRequirements:All positions may require lifting and/or physical activities, including lifting of up to 75 lbs., walking/working on uneven surfaces, and driving to and from job sites.
