Our team consists of licensed Professional Engineers (PE) certified Project Management Professionals (PMP) certified professional with Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) licensed General Building Contractor and other industry designations. We can provide entitlement development design procurement construction management project management expert witness and litigation support services on a variety of building types. Our experienced team have provided these services to successfully deliver various facilities for public school districts college districts universities commercial developers hospitality owners multinational CM/PM consultants and other valued clients. This is a full-time position with Los Angeles Unified School District. The ideal candidate for the Senior Project Manager position would be a highly experienced professional with at least 17 years of full-time paid project and construction management experience including a minimum of five years managing large-scale programs with projects valued over $50 million. They should have a strong background in managing educational facilities public works or large commercial construction projects with a deep understanding of contract administration cost control schedule management dispute resolution and quality control. The candidate should also have experience working with various stakeholders and departments including environmental health and safety asset management and inspection units. A bachelors degree in architecture engineering or construction management is required or a combination of extensive experience and the ability to obtain a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year. Preferred qualifications include design-build experience knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) LEED-certified projects and familiarity with Division of State Architect (DSA) processes. Strong communication leadership and problem-solving skills are essential along with the ability to review and manage change orders project budgets and payment applications. A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is also preferred. Responsibilities Resolves complex construction project related issues disputes and disagreementsDevelops assigns and monitors performance of OARs relative to assigned construction projectsReviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedulesReviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact on the districtAssists Regional Directors and other Facilities management staff with bid and contract planningAssesses bid specifications according to District needs and probability of completion under stated timelineReviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reportingReviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projectsProvides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules cost control dispute resolution contract administration and quality controlReviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for Architects and related consultantsCoordinates program activities with other District organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety Design and A/E Technical Support AssetManagement Branch Facilities Contract Administration Inspection Unit Maintenance and Operations and local districtsReviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projectsDevelops and recommends internal policies and proceduresPerforms other related duties as assigned Required Experience: 17 years full time paid professional project/construction management experience5 years of experience in managing large programs with projects having construction values in excess of $50 million (not cumulative)5 years experience in educational facility construction public works or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California) Required Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering or Construction ManagementORGraduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelors degree. Candidate must be able to complete the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one (1) year of employment in the Facilities Services Division of the Los Angeles Unified School District.ORCollege undergraduate but possess more than 20 years of Construction or Project Management experience and must complete the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one (1) year of employment in the Facilities Services Division.
