Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTitle: Construction Technician Location: Philadelphia, PA Hire Type: Contract to hire Compensation: $30-35/hr Benefits: As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan.What you'll do: Develop an intimate knowledge of the client’s business and establishing and maintaining quality relationships with key contacts in the client’s organizationIdentify house services and manholes needed for survey from plat mapTrace secondary mains from service manhole to transformerIdentify and input data of all cable size of services and mainsHand draw surveys of all cables and equipment in manholesHand draw maps of secondary mains feeding all servicesTake pictures of all manholes, cables, and conduitProvide input to Construction Supervisors, Project Managers, and Sr. Project Managers concerning potential process and design improvements related to Field ServicesPerform Quality Control checks on work being performedAssist with project planning, to include preparing project schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring necessary permits are obtainedReview and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawingsMaintain records related to project activities, costs, and project performanceIdentify and assist with resolving issues and challenges that may ariseMinimum Requirements:A minimum of 1 year of experience as a site construction crew on industrial construction projects.Sound knowledge of current OSHA regulations and other safety guidelines.Confined space and OSHA 10 certified preferred Must have valid driver’s license for fieldwork/onsite visitsQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
