Summary Our Redwire Space Missions group has a current opportunity for a Contractor - Hardware Test Engineer (willing to consider all Levels) for a period of up to 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to full time Redwire employee (FTE). This position will be located at our facility in Littleton, CO. In this role you will design the test plans, procedures, and scripts required to validate deliverable space-grade hardware. You will perform the critical function of ensuring mission success by validating that our hardware will work as intended in the extreme environmental conditions of outer space after a turbulent launch assent. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes including such high-profile programs as the human-rated Orion program. ResponsibilitiesWork on highly complex projects requiring innovative and original solutionsDevise testing plans, methods, and equipment to assure reliability of product in conjunction with requirementsProvide test area and facility with parameters for testing and specify tests to be performedCompile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirementsResponsible for testing all customer hardware and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test areaConsult with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applicationsPerforms analysis, diagnostics, and preliminary evaluations of productsDevelop testing procedures, including scripted testing automationImplement the testing processes and ensure all test activities follow those processesProduce reports on each test activity and track test metricsWorks on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiativeEffectively train/mentor the work group and lead teams within the groupResolve divergent technical opinions within team and customersIndependently determine and develops approach to solutionsMust be able to travel to test facilities up to 15%. Out of state travel may be requiredAbility to support testing outside of business hours including overnight and weekends on occasion Ideal ExperienceBachelor's degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science) or related field. With 4 or more years of aerospace/space Test Engineering experience. Willing to consider equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.Experience writing test plans, procedures, and reports and or data packagesExperience with environmental testing (TVAC, Vibration, and Shock)Scripting and automation skills (Python)Experience with Linux (OS)PCA troubleshootingAbility to travel on occasional if neededUS Citizenship required Desired SkillsStrong written and oral communication skills. Capable of communicating effectively with customers.Experience with and understanding of AS9100 industry standard practicesFrequent use and application of technical standards, principles, and theoriesStrong ability to debug and deduce digital design issues with use of lab tools such as bench supplies, scopes, and logic analyzers with little support from more senior engineersPossesses leadership skills and a resiliently positive attitudeBasic MS Word & MS Excel competencyKnowledge of basic electrical design and theory Grow with us as we innovate the next generation capabilities for a new era of space exploration!
