They process more than 1 billion work activities annually generating insights that were previously impossible.Backed by leading venture firms and founders from iconic technology companies our client is scaling quickly and hiring their first in-house Controller.This is a hands-on foundational leadership role responsible for owning the entire accounting function establishing audit readiness and building the systems and controls that will support rapid growth.If you thrive in fast-moving SaaS environments and want to build a modern AI-enabled accounting organization from the ground up this role is designed for you.What Youll OwnAccounting LeadershipOwn all accounting operations: general ledger revenue recognition AP/AR payroll and compliance.Lead the monthly quarterly and annual close with discipline accuracy and efficiency.Audit and amp; ComplianceLead and manage the companys first external financial audit and all future audits.Maintain compliance with federal state and local reporting requirements.Financial ReportingDeliver accurate timely financial statements and technical accounting memos.Partner with FP and amp;A on budgeting forecasting and variance analysis.Systems Controls and amp; ScaleImplement and strengthen accounting systems internal controls and scalable workflows.Identify opportunities for automation and champion an AI-first accounting function.Cross-Functional PartnershipCollaborate with FP and amp;A Legal HR and Operations to streamline financial processes.Serve as a trusted partner on accounting policy compliance and strategic financial decisions.Youll Thrive Here If You HaveExperienceBachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.5-10 years of accounting experience including:A strong technical foundation (Big 4 or equivalent) andHands-on in-house operating experience at a tech company (B2B SaaS strongly preferred).Proven experience leading full-cycle audits end-to-end.Comfort being the first dedicated accounting hire and building structure from 0 1.Experience in fast-paced scaling startup environments.Mindset and amp; SkillsStrong technical accounting skills and deep GAAP knowledge.Clear confident communication and executive presence.A genuine enthusiasm for AI automation and modern finance tooling - this is a core requirement.Ability to move fluidly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.Nice to HaveExperience at a SaaS or AI-focused company.Familiarity with global accounting and compliance considerations.Experience building or managing an accounting team.Why This Opportunity Stands OutFoundational OwnershipYou will be the first in-house Controller - setting the accounting foundation that supports hyper-growth audit readiness and future corporate milestones.Impact at ScaleYoull help build a finance function supporting a platform used by some of the largest professional services organizations in the world.AI-Native Finance FunctionOur client is designed around automation and AI.
