Job Details:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and strategic Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This role is critical to our organization, overseeing all accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and providing insights to executive leadership. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and experience managing both month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires a dynamic individual who can lead the annual budgeting process, design strong internal accounting controls, and serve as a trusted financial advisor to our executive team. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights to executive leadership.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process across all departments.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
  • Support pricing strategies by analyzing labor, equipment, overhead, and market conditions.
  • Design and implement internal accounting controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax requirements and payroll taxes.
  • Manage audit processes and ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements.
  • Develop documentation for accounting procedures and policies.
  • Manage and develop accounting staff, set performance expectations, and support professional development.
  • Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and working capital management.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Ownership and Executive Leadership.
  • Participate in long-term strategic planning, including expansion into new service lines or markets.
  • Provide financial modeling and ROI analysis for capital expenditures and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Lead continuous improvement of financial systems and ERP platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and review.
  • Proven experience in leading annual budgeting processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience providing insights to executive leadership.
  • Experience managing audit processes and ensuring compliance with lender reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience managing and developing accounting staff.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow management, banking relationships, and working capital management.
  • Experience with financial modeling and ROI analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and ERP platforms.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
