Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 per hour A bit about us: We are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support and enhance automation systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, drives, and related control systems to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall operational efficiency. Why join us? $110,000 - $145,000 per year depending on Experience Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Generous PTO Policy 401k with company match Must be comfortable with Splitting time between Monroe and Monticello Facilities Job Details Key Responsibilities Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley preferred) Modify and maintain PLC code across ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and SLC 500 platforms Support and improve SCADA systems for monitoring, data collection, and system control Develop and update HMI applications (PanelView / PanelView Plus) to enhance operator interface and usability Configure, troubleshoot, and replace Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) including Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Siemens, and Mitsubishi Provide technical support for electrical systems up to 480VAC, including troubleshooting and interpreting schematics Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions Partner with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime Maintain accurate documentation including schematics, SOPs, OPLs, and work instructions Assist in capital projects, system upgrades, and new equipment installations Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering (manufacturing environment preferred) Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 500/5000) Experience with SCADA systems (Wonderware preferred) Proficiency in HMI development (PanelView / PanelView Plus) Hands-on experience with VFDs (PowerFlex, Siemens, Mitsubishi) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and AutoCAD drawings Experience working with high-speed manufacturing or packaging equipment preferred Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Interested in hearing more?
