Franklin St.  Kirksville, MO 63501 Schedule:  4:30am-1pm; Must have weekend availability Benefits:  100% Company paid employee Medical, Dental, Life Insurance & short-term disability insurance; Paid time off available after 90 days of employmentMust be at least 21 years of age **This position does require a very thorough/strict background check**Position SummaryWe are looking for an ambitious Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.ResponsibilitiesFollow the prep list created by Director to plan dutiesLabel and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessibleMeasure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cookingPrepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.Ensure all food and other items are stored properlyComply with nutrition and sanitation guidelinesPerform other kitchen duties as assignedSkillsProven experience as cookKnowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchenManual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensilsA team player with good communication skillsPatient with an ability to stay positive under pressureVery good physical condition and enduranceHigh school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an assetRemote work is not allowed.This position is safety sensitive.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or other legally protected status.
