Job Title: CookDepartment: Food & Nutrition Location: Rochester General Hospital - 1425 Portland Ave Rochester NY 14621Hours Per Week: 37.5 hoursSchedule:7:30 AM - 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM with every 3rd weekendSUMMARY:As a Cook you provide the fuel that keeps our teams running and help meet the important nutritional needs of our patients.RESPONSIBILITIES:Food Preparation. Prepare food and baked goods following the daily assignments; maintain sufficient supplies of hot and cold foods for daily needs; assist Senior Cook in food preparation as requestedCustomer Service. Demonstrate excellent level of customer service assist as needed and answer any questions to the best of your abilityDocumentation. Follow all departmental HAACP procedures including logging of all temperaturesSanitation. Ensure all equipment used is cleaned to code standardsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:None.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.2-4 years previous experience in related field preferredEDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations including continuing education requirements.
