We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team.The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of meals for our Residents, ensuring the highest quality and Resident satisfaction. This role requires maintaining the cleanliness of the food service area and providing indirect supervision to cooks and food service workers. The Cook will report directly to the Dietary Manager on a daily basis.Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for ResidentsAdhere strictly to food safety guidelines and regulationsMaintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all timesIndirectly supervise and guide junior cooks and food service workersCollaborate with the Dietary Manager to plan menus and create specialized dishesManage inventory and ensure proper storage of food itemsAdapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and special nutritional needsOperate and maintain kitchen equipment in accordance with safety protocolsContribute to the development of new menu items and culinary offeringsParticipate in ongoing training to enhance culinary skills and knowledgeEnsure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulationsMaintain accurate records of food production and waste managementQualificationsExperience in a professional kitchen settingKnowledge of food safetyPassion for food and cooking techniquesFamiliar with food service disaster plansHigh school diploma or equivalentCulinary degree or certification preferredStrong knowledge of various cooking methods and techniquesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent time management and organizational skillsKnowledge of dietary restrictions and special dietsStrong communication and teamwork skillsPhysical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 poundsFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Additional InformationLooking for a career with opportunities for advancement?
