Key ResponsibilitiesReview menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructionsPrepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and visually appealingFollow physician orders for dietary restrictions, textures, and liquid consistenciesAdhere to food safety and sanitation proceduresFollow portion control guidelinesEnsure food and supplies are available for scheduled mealsSupervise preparation of serving cartsServe meals attractively and on timeProperly cover, date, label, and store foodComplete leftover logs accuratelyClean kitchen areas after meals (prep stations, service areas, pots/pans, walls, floors)Address resident food complaints as neededSupervise culinary staff in the absence of the Culinary Services Director or Sous ChefFollow infection control proceduresUse cleaning agents and hazardous materials per department guidelinesReport unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptlyAttend onboarding, annual training, in-services, and team meetingsUnderstand and implement emergency procedures (fire, earthquake, etc.)Perform other duties as assignedManagement reserves the right to modify duties at any time✅ Skills & QualificationsMinimum age: 182+ years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cookingEffective communication skills in English (verbal and written)Meet all state/provincial health requirementsMaintain a valid food handler’s permit and any other required certificationsKnowledge of food safety, sanitation, and storage proceduresGenuine interest in working with older adults and their families????
