Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCookQuarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community is currently seeking a Full-Time Cook to join our Independent Living Dining Services Team! We are looking for a friendly and outgoing individual who takes pride in a job well done. We will provide you with the training you need to be successful. Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm, every other weekend rotationCompensation: $18.00/hr - $24.42hr, dependent upon experience Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Prepare, season and cook made to order food for our Independent Living residents in our Bistro CafeResponsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirementsEnsure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc.Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to consistently prepare the correct amount of each item dailyPresent food using proper plating techniquesAssist executive chef and other cooks with prep and special functionsAssist in training new team membersRequirements:High School Diploma or GED equivalent, culinary training a PLUSMinimum of 2 years experience in a hospitality industryThe ability to manage one’s time and consistently place a focus on quality and attention to detail The ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respectServ-Safe Certification a plus, or willingness to get certificationThis position requires excellent customer service skills, dependability, and initiative and the desire to be a part of a team that's main focus is to bring our mission to life for our team and residents:To provide for the spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs of our residents through high quality facilities, services and personal care in a manner faithful to the Bible and honoring our Lord, Jesus Christ.We are people, respected and appreciated, serving people, respected and appreciated.
