We are looking for a candidate to support our Director of Dining Services and assist in the creation and preparation of delicious meals for our wonderful residents at Regency at Augusta Assisted Living Community. We welcome you to apply and join our family today as a Cook!We Are All Family™ResponsibilitiesPreparation of daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).Assist with menu planning; review menus with supervisor to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events, and holidays.Identify food and supplies needed for the next week's menus and report to the supervisor; maintain written inventories of food and dining supplies.Maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment. Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food for infection control. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills.Competent in organizational, time management skills and demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.QualificationsMust be 21 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.Must read, write, speak and understand English at a 12-grade level or higher.Commercial cooking experience preferred or domestic cooking experience with large groups.Enjoy working with older adults.Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.Exhibit leadership in the kitchen and be passionate about job performance.Ability to lift heavy objects up to 30-pounds, stand for long periods of time, walk short distances throughout the day and tolerate the heat from the kitchen.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.Regency at Augusta Assisted Living CommunityShenandoah Valley’s newest senior living community, Regency at Augusta, located in Fishersville, combines the care you need with the lifestyle you enjoy.
