Cook/Service Worker (Part Time) - Homme Youth & Family Programs (Wittenberg, WI)
Homme Youth and Family Programs in Wittenberg is seeking a part time Cook/Service Worker to support our residential program serving adolescent male youth who are at risk. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in a clean and organized workspace, and wants to make a positive impact in a youth centered environment.

Food Preparation & Service

Homme Youth and Family Programs in Wittenberg is seeking a part time Cook/Service Worker to support our residential program serving adolescent male youth who are at risk. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in a clean and organized workspace, and wants to make a positive impact in a youth centered environment.
Schedule:
- Primarily Tuesdays & Thursdays
- 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Occasional Fridays: 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- Onsite position

Food Preparation & Service
- Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and standardized recipes.
- Adjust recipes as needed in consultation with supervisors or colleagues.
- Operate large scale kitchen equipment (mixers, ovens, slicers, coffee urns, etc.).
- Organize and distribute meals throughout the facility.
- Assist in menu planning and inventory as needed.
- Take routine inventory of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Receive deliveries, review quality, date mark items, and store appropriately.
- Assist with ordering food, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
- Clean, maintain, and sanitize all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
- May assist with facility cleaning tasks such as mopping, sweeping, emptying wastebaskets, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Maintain positive working relationships and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Participate as a member of the program's quality team.
- May help train new staff or direct the work of others assigned to food preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Food Preparation Assistant course preferred.
- Knowledge of USDA School Meal Programs preferred.
- Experience with institutional cooking methods, equipment, and materials.
- Understanding of sanitation, health, and occupational safety procedures.
- Ability to operate and maintain food service equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, menus, and recipes.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain routine records and reports.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and standing.
- Must successfully complete background, caregiver, medical, and other required checks upon offer.
- May require 4 hours of annual food safety training (program dependent).
- No travel required.
