JOB DESCRIPTION

Our busy quick-service restaurant is looking for a cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced atmosphere. We need someone to prepare food stations, cook a large volume of food, and ensure that all food safety and storage rules are followed. Our ideal applicant has prior food industry experience, preferably in fast food, quick service, or fast casual restaurants, as well as a willingness to learn. Compensation:

$17.50 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Wash, cut, dice, chop, and slice food items to stock prep stations
  • Use thermometers to check that food has reached an appropriate temperature before serving it
  • Clean equipment and work surfaces at the end of each shift, including sweeping floors, mopping, and cleaning counters
  • Cook food according to instructions provided on food order slips or through verbal directions
  • Maintain work stations, including all countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition per health and safety regulations
  • Cook meals as posted on weekly menu and prepare alternative meals

Qualifications:
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and have high attention to detail
  • Previous experience working in fast food or quick service restaurant is preferred
  • Needs to be able to multitask, prioritize, and have excellent time management skills
  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
  • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage
