We pride ourselves in the meals we provide our residents that set us apart from others in our industry.Job SummaryA Cook position is available our culinary department in a state-of-the-art community in Lakeville. Applicants must be passionate and driven to provide the greatest nutritional and sensory experience for individuals living with a diagnosis of Dementia.We believe the dining experience is an exceptional opportunity to stimulate the senses and nurture our community of Residents. In our scratch kitchen, cooks are encouraged to express their creativity through food and outstanding service.Applicants must be professional and enthusiastic about using your talents to enrich our Residents’ lives through food and hospitality. Applicants must have a dynamic persona with a track record of being an outstanding cook and team member.Cooks prepare and/or direct the preparation of food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Ensure appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the followingScratch cooking experience requiredPreparing or directing preparation of food served using established production procedures and systemsDetermining amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems; ensuring availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation; serving or ensuring proper serving of food for tray line or dining roomComplying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observing proper food preparation and handling techniquesStoring food properly and safely by marking dates and itemsReporting necessary equipment repair and maintenanceCorrectly preparing all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders; portioning food for servingPlanning food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preservedMaintaining daily production recordsKeeping work area neat and clean at all times; cleaning and maintaining equipment used in food preparationCompleting food temperature checks before servicePerforming other work-related duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)A high school diploma or equivalent preferred3 years Prior experience in related food service positions requiredModerate reading and writing skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skillsProficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgmentAbility to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or lessJob Type: Full-timeSalary: From $20.00 per hour +Benefits:Full Core Benefits Package - Medical, Dental, VisionAdditional Plans for FT and PT including Accident, Illness, Life, Disability and More Health savings account401K Paid time offSchedule:Day shiftEvening shiftHolidaysWeekend availabilityExperience:Restaurant experience: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One locationPowered by JazzHRKtRZgyVVhU
