Help others heal and grow.Turning Point, Inc. is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and organized Cook to join our treatment team. In this critical role, you'll help oversee all kitchen operations and ensure that clients receive nutritious, safe, and well-prepared meals each day.The Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and supervising all aspects of food service within the facility. This includes designing menus that meet dietary needs, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining a calm, supportive and clean kitchen environment aligned with our mission of care.What You’ll Do:As a Cook, you’ll be the supportive backbone of our client services. Your role will include:Plan and execute daily menus that support client health and dietary requirementsPrepare meals in accordance with established nutritional guidelinesSupervise kitchen staff and oversee daily food service operationsMaintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety protocolsManaging kitchen phone and emails Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and suppliesEnsure all meals are served on schedule to support client routinesCollaborate with clinical staff regarding dietary restrictions and special needsMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environmentSupport a trauma-informed, client-focused atmosphereKeeping accurate shift notes, and reports.Responding to behavioral emergencies with professionalism, using de-escalation techniques.Participating in staff meetings and contributing to a positive, recovery-focused environmentWhy Turning Point?Mission-Driven Work: Be part of a culturally specific organization that centers the voices and needs of African American clientsCollaborative Team: Work alongside experienced clinicians and community advocates Inclusive Culture: We value diversity, lived experience, and innovation in care deliveryRequirements:What We’re Looking For:We’re seeking someone who’s organized, empathetic, and ready to make a difference. The ideal candidate will bring:High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in food management is a plusPrevious experience as a Chef, Executive Chef, or Kitchen Manager preferredAbility to plan balanced, nutritious menusStrong understanding of food safety and sanitation standardsExperience working in healthcare, treatment centers, or institutional settings is a plusLeadership skills with the ability to guide and support kitchen staffAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.Dependable, organized, and able to work in a structured environmentUnderstanding of addiction treatment and mental health support Need to speak, read, and write in English.
