Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAre you a dynamic and energetic culinary professional capable of leading a team and providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience? Our popular restaurant seeks a skilled executive chef who can create innovative menus and dishes, order and manage inventory, monitor and prevent food waste, and ensure health and safety requirements are followed. We are located in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, right on the water with a gorgeous view and the best sunset in town. We are looking to fulfill the need for high-end food in the area with a consistent production.We need an experienced cook who is comfortable with a variety of cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, roasting, charbroiling, sautéing, grilling, frying, and baking. Our ideal applicant is a team player who can successfully communicate with other kitchen staff to keep our restaurant running efficiently. We are looking for someone ASAP! We have housing ONSITE!Compensation:$1,200 - $2,000 biweeklyResponsibilities:Grill, broil or saute menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specificationsAssemble a system of food stations and fill them with everything they need for the shiftKeep all workstations, counters, cooking equipment, and refrigerators clean and sanitary according to health and safety rulesRecognize and adhere to quality requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, as well as correct storage and waste managementDemonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associatesQualifications:Ability to understand and comply with kitchen sanitation, safety and equipment usage, and food storageMust be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethicEducational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificateDisplay excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers Prior food service industry experience is highly desiredAbout CompanyWe are a family-owned business in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Our restaurant is attached to a seasonal marina that caters to yachts that travel up and down the Maine coast. We are looking for someone who can produce and execute a high-quality menu for our high-profile clients. There are no high-end restaurants in the area, and this need must be fulfilled. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic. In the summer season, we are open 7 days a week, 11 am - 9 pm. In the winter, we go down to six days a week. We offer employee housing.
