The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to student and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.Responsibilities:Engage with students in an organized thoughtful and positive mannerAddress the needs of students and staff in a pleasant and timely fashionPrepare and serve meals to students according to school guidelines and dietary restrictionsApply National School Lunch/Breakfast regulationsMaintain a clean and organized kitchen including washing dishes and sanitizing surfacesConduct basic arithmetic operations; maintain precise records of daily transactions and balance the cash drawer.Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as neededFollow all safety and sanitation procedures including proper food handling and storageFlexibility in floating to other buildings as neededSuccessfully complete Serve-Safe Certification Class within 6 months of hire if requiredComplete continuing education including Professional Development days as requiredAssist with other duties as assigned by the director or kitchen managerRequirements:High school diploma or equivalentPrior experience in food service preferredAbility to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens stovetops and cash registersAbility to utilize a computer as an operational toolStrong organizational skills and attention to detailDemonstrate excellent communication skills encompassing both written and verbal aspects along with exceptional customer service abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to adhere to school policies and procedures including dress code and background check requirementsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands of this job require bending standing for long periods and the ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs of weight using a team lift approach.
