The mission is to empower students pursuit of their own developmental growth by cultivating lifelong leadership skills and engaging in experiential service learning to become more effective citizens in their community.Summary of Responsibilities:Program Development & FacilitationCreate and implement curriculum for student leadership development programs (e.g. Certified Student Leader training Owl Breaks Site Leader program Elite Owl Ambassadors and Greek Officer Leadership Development program).Develop execute and recruit for the departments immersive multi-day programs such as Owl Breaks (alternative breaks) and Legacy 61Coordinate and execute semester events such as volunteer fairs leadership labs voter and civic engagement initiatives and days of service.Assist with the implementation of signature programs: iLead WeLead Fill the Burrow Donation Drive and other collaborations.Deliver workshops presentations and training sessions for students faculty and staff.Plan and manage celebratory events recognizing student achievements in leadership and service such as service cords recognition ceremony student leader program completion awards and student Talon Awardee process.Perform ongoing research and professional development in order to improve campus practices related to increasing leadership skills service-learning and civic engagement.Advising and SupervisionRecruit train and supervise student leaders (e.g. Owl Breaks Site Leaders Elite Owl Ambassadors SGs SAVI positions)Serves as a consultant and resource for students seeking development in the areas of leadership service civic engagement and community involvement.Assist in the advisement of the registered student organizations leadership honor societies (e.g. Omicron Delta Kappa National Society of Leadership and Success) in the absence of the Director.Support the registered student organizations leadership honor societies (e.g. Omicron Delta Kappa National Society of Leadership and Success) at their annual events.Strengthen student engagement in curricular programs such as Academic-Service Learning and the Leadership Studies MinorAssessment and ReportingDevelop and apply learning outcomes and assessment tools to evaluate co-curricular programs and student engagement events to ensure increased knowledge awareness and skills for students and staff related to leadership service and civic responsibility.Maintain the NobleHour volunteer hour tracking systems and review and approve submitted volunteer hoursContribute data to institutional reporting (e.g. SACS Accreditation Carnegie Classification Academic-Service Learning Voter Friendly Campus initiative and state metrics).Support in the collection analysis and reporting of departmental data to demonstrate continuous departmental improvement and monitor student engagement activities via the annual reporting process.Community Outreach and Institutional EngagementSupport the creation and maintenance of website content and social media related to the promotion of the unit.Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications unit to develop and implement strategic marketing efforts like fliers social media campaigns promotional items etc.Build and maintain community partnerships with institutional units and local organizations to enhance leadership and service needs.Support civic engagement efforts including voter education and awareness initiatives in collaboration with Student Government and Government Relations.Participate in outreach tabling events orientation sessions and university recruitment initiatives.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.FAU Benefits and PerksIf Benefits & Perks are important to you then FAU is the place to be!
