Security Sensitive Position?:YesHours of Work:8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-FPosting Number:TSU203601Official TSU Title:Coordinator of Warehouse OperationsGrant Title:N/AJob Description Summary / TWC Summary:Under general supervision, responsible for transporting and delivering, will pick up and drop off items while adhering to the central intake process for all supplies and equipment received at the University Central Warehouse. Ensures that merchandise received matches purchase orders. This job class exercises responsibility for the effective receipt, storage, distribution and tagging of Texas Southern University supplies, materials, equipment, and related goods.Essential Duties Summary:Loads, transports, and delivers items to clients/departments in a safe timely manner.Receives, records, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, books, furniture, foods, and supplies delivered to the University warehouse facility.Wrap, pack, log, and otherwise prepares parcels and goods for shipping (if necessary).Inspects incoming stock/materials for conformity to purchase orders and packing slips.Reviews orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, corrects and the customer is satisfied.Assists with loading and unloading items from vehicle.Accepts and returns paperwork for delivered items back to University Shipping and Receiving Department.Receives and prepares on-time deliveries based on the TMA Work Order Request.Records required information on each delivery and stores in proper location until delivery.Processes immediately all refrigerated items received and forwards to requesting departments.Produces weekly report on the receipt and disposition of all items received the previous week.Coordinates intra-campus moves by processing move order forms and gathering material required for moves.Reports undocumented/unordered shipments, shortages, and/or damaged items and goods to appropriate authority.Assesses the need for inventory control measures (barcode) for controlled and capitalized items, and affix and provide documentation for said items for university customers.Operates equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.% FTE:1.0Hiring Range:$19.53 - $24.90Education:High School diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent education.Required Licensing/Certification:Valid Texas Driver’s license preferred.Forklift certification preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:Policies, departmental procedures, and practices.Safety guidelines.Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.Skill in:Problem-solving and decision-making.Multitasking capabilities.Time management.Both verbal and written communication.Ability to:Learn safety rules and regulations related to warehouse operations and equipment usage.Maintain accurate warehouse and inventory files and records as assigned.Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.Safely operate warehouse equipment to include delivery vehicles and forklift.Understand and follow both oral/written instructions.Read and write at a level required for successful job performance.Perform accurate arithmetic calculations using basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Work Experience:Five (5) years related experience.Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment to include delivery vehicles and forklift preferred.Working/Environmental Conditions:Reach and grasp objects.Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, lift or crawl.Exposure to moderate risk of accident.Prolonged standing and/or walking.Handling moderate weight objects up to 75 lbs.Use or carry equipment.Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skill.Routine travel.UA EEO Statement:It is the policy of Texas Southern University to provide a work environment that is free from discrimination for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, individuals with disability, sexual orientation, or protected veteran status in its programs, activities, admissions or employment policies.
