This position requires a large degree of interfacing with coworkers clinic personnel patients and insurance representatives. Needs to be highly self-motivated and career minded.Each Billing Specialist is assigned the responsibility of working accounts and keeping the account receivables within department standards. The Billing Specialist needs to have the ability to multi-task effectively in a fast paced environment.Schedule: Full-time typical schedule is five 8-hour shifts Monday - FridayCompensation: Pay range from $18-$20 per hourdepending on qualifications and experienceBenefits:Comprehensive medical dental and vision benefitsLife and long-term disability insurance provided at no additional expense to employeePaid time off (PTO) including holidaysExtended Sick Bank (ESB) in addition to PTO paid time for doctor appointments sickness or medical leaveRetirement plans with $.50 of each contributed dollar matched for eligible employees up to 8 percentEducation reimbursementEmployee assistance programWellness programAmong othersResponsibilitiesWhat You Can Expect:Monthly creation of billable charges for designated patientsMonthly claims billing; follow-up re-billing secondary billing and correction billing of claimsCollection process for account balancesUpdating patients file recordsComplete adjustment transaction formsMaintain good communication link with each patients home-clinic personnelAccount aging balances; insurance verifications referrals and authorizationAging balances must be kept within acceptable collection standards.QualificationsSuccessful Candidates Bring:Interpersonal skills/expectations include:Excellent communication skills.Organization skills/expectations include:Attention to detail is a must.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.Education/Training:Associates degree preferred but not required.A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in medical billing.DCI is committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization.
