Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Technical Accounting & SOX Compliance this positions primary responsibility is serving as the enterprise-wide Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance manager. Additional responsibilities include supporting the technical accounting function.Internal controls:Manage the enterprise-wide SOX compliance program covering the Companys internal control over financial reporting including preparation of the annual SOX compliance plan and risk assessmentAct as the primary point of contact for SOX compliance matters across the Company maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with the business divisions corporate departments and both internal and external auditorsManage the SOX compliance reporting process which includes leading SOX compliance status meetings assessing control deficiencies and monitoring remediation plansProvide upper management timely SOX status updatesMaintain the companys SOX compliance tracking and reporting toolServe as SOX subject matter expert by providing guidance and best practices regarding control design implementation deficiency assessment and remediation plansOversee the development and implementation of controls related to new accounting standards transactions processes and systems.Manage and coordinate the process for service organization control reportsTechnical accounting:Monitor the standard setting and rule making activities at the FASB and SECParticipate in U.S. GAAP accounting and SEC reporting consultations by researching analyzing communicating and documenting U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and conclusionsPrepare quarterly department memos including those related to control deficiencies impairment indicators materiality assessments and related party transactionsParticipate in the implementation of new U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC reporting requirementsReview draft SEC filings and provide input into applicable footnote disclosures including those related to new accounting standards and the Companys accounting policies.Assist with ad-hoc projects in support of management initiativesMust Have Bachelors Degree and 6 years of applicable progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Masters Degree and 4 years of relevant experienceNice to Have CPA certificationExperience at a Big 4 accounting firm or related experience with SOX compliance at a large publicly traded companyExperience with SOX requirements and internal control assessmentsExperience with U.S. GAAP and SEC reportingExcellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage/lead multiple projects simultaneously prioritize tasks and stay organizedSelf-directed and accountableStrong analytical skillsPrior experience with AuditBoard Blackline Workiva Microsoft Office SAPWhy HIIWe build the worlds most powerful survivable naval ships and defense technology solutions that safeguard our seas sky land space and cyber.
