Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR2. One year of experience in any field; OR3. Six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.One year of this experience must have been in a position equivalent in scope of responsibility or complexity of work performed to a Corrections Captain in State service.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force overt or implied threats of force or coercion or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.Possession of a current drivers license.Job Specification The official job specifications for this role as defined by the State Civil Service can be found here.Job Duties and Other Information Directs staff assigns cases and manages and monitors Department investigations.Writes and reviews reports coordinates activities of other investigators within DOC. Serves as liaison between the investigations staff and other agencies on investigative matters.Oversees and/or Conducts complex and/or sensitive internal investigations of DOC employees and of the offender population. May investigate and/or interview high level officials including but not limited to Sheriffs and Probation and Parole employees.Possession of a current drivers license.Supervise Corrections Majors in this section.Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: PROBATION or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEECurrent permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment.
