Job DescriptionJob Description(This position is subject to the Export Control Laws, which requires the employees to be one of the following: (a) a citizen of the United States; (b) a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (c) a person admitted into the United States as an asylee or refugee)Summary of Position:The corrective action specialist must be passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system and doing complex data analysis. Corrective actions support existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our specialists get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products and production system.CA specialists work to develop, maintain and assess our Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for the production processes and design. As a CA specialist, you will work closely with other engineering functions, manufacturing and support functions to ensure compliance to our regulators and contractual requirements, while continually improving our products and processes. The Statement of Work includes being a problem-solving leader through analyzing defect data, performing analysis to support production changes, identifying and implementing improvements to quality and production processes and product designs, customer complaints, and leading cross-functional teams on Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and defect reduction efforts.Essential Job Requirements (MINIMUM):Responsible for processing all corrective actions and 8D RCCA’s per AS9100 and customer standards, with the expectation that RCCA’s to customer be accepted first time, every time.· Actively works with operation departments to effectively reduce internal scrap and rework.· Will regularly monitor production to ensure quality of parts manufactured as well as ensure operators are following quality protocols.· Responsible for conforming to the company’s quality system procedures as documented as well as maintenance of QMS.· Works closely with suppliers and customers to ensure quality satisfaction is maintained by collecting feedback.Provide regular training to employees, updating their knowledge related to quality standards and BMS processes.Performs other duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE:Aerospace quality assurance experience is highly desired, preferably in a build-to-print manufacturing environment.Auditing experience resulting in corrective action and review and acceptance of completed RCCA.Demonstration of proper tool applications to support root cause such as 8D problem solving, 5 Why, Six-Sigma, DMAIC, and other Operational Excellence Tools.REQUIRED SKILLS:Analytical skills – need to be able to spot problems quickly and find the underlying causes so changes can be madeCritical thinking – once problems are identified, solutions and improvements must be found. This might involve thinking about a process, procedure or problem in a completely new way.Attention to detail – as the people responsible for the creation and implementation of quality systems, as well as the people who notice and report on problems, every detail must be noticed and acted upon when necessaryNumerical skills – statistical analysis can be a big part of a quality engineering roleCommunications skills – strong written and verbal communication skills are key. Must be able to relay potentially complex ideas to a wide range of audiences – both in personal consultations but also through company quality documentationTeam working skills – working as part of the quality team, and in close coordination with other teams throughout the manufacturing facility (as well as potential for interaction with suppliers and customers) is a key part of quality engineeringAS91000 Knowledge -must have a strong knowledge regarding quality standards prescribed by AS9100.Company DescriptionCascade Gasket specializes in Elastomer Seal & Gasket manufacturing exclusively for the aerospace industry.
