The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Newaygo that are seeking skilled Cost Accountants. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials work-in-progress and finished goods. Perform detailed variance analysis for production costs including material labor and overhead. Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing actual to standard costs. Manage inventory valuation including obsolescence and slow-moving inventory provisions. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts related to production expenditures. Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within manufacturing operations. Support month-end close activities related to cost of goods sold and inventory accounts. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. 3-5 years of cost accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of GAAP cost accounting principles inventory valuation and variance analysis. Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills. CMA or CPA certification preferred.
