Location: Chesapeake, VA - Indian Creek Correctional Center Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours. Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 7:45 AM-4:45 PM with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. 9 Openings Pay Rate: 52,000 ($25.00/hr.). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $58,000 ($27.88/hr.) Indian Creek Correctional Center houses 1,060 male inmates and operates one of the largest Therapeutic Community Treatment Programs in the nation. Discounts on wide array of services/entertainment nationwide The Counselor is responsible for: Serving as a role model and engineer of a social learning treatment milieu. The provision of counseling services to include group programming and meetings, individual counseling, case management services, and clinical documentation. Working closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizens. CA CB QualificationsQualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required. State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description.
