You will then be able to attach your Resume/CV as well as all other supporting documentation in the My Experience section of your application.Job DescriptionSUMMARY:Reporting to the Director of Performance Operations the Production Manager is responsible for the seamless and efficient realization of all stage events in The Alexander Kasser Theater Amphitheater Memorial Auditorium Fox Theater or other venues.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan and implement a production calendar and workflow for all performing arts venues in collaboration with all stakeholders via Propared.Develop and oversee production budgets - including labor material and equipment needs.Establish and maintain a central role in communications with all presenting partners to ensure timely and accurate information exchange for technical requests.Work with colleagues in Performance Operations to assess efficiencies in staffing and cultivate manage retain and evaluate a freelance labor pool.Work closely with the Audience Services Manager and Front of House Coordinator to ensure effective audience management.Work closely with the Technical Director to ensure appropriate staffing levels and training for all productions and events managed by the Performance Operations department.Plan organize and lead intake and production meetings.Schedule track and approve hours for production staff temporary employees in Workday.Purchasing and signoffs via purchase orders punchouts and pCards.Serve as the Production Manager for ACP/PEAK productions University and rental events and other activities as assigned.Serve as the Production Coordinator and/or Production Stage Manager on events as assigned. This may include calling cues coordinating with the client to start the performance assisting with dressing room assignments and other stage management duties.In consultation with venue technical staff and the Director of Performance Operations identify price and propose equipment and capital needs for all performance venues.Be a resource for all clients and stakeholders answering questions and offering best practice advice.Perform other duties as assigned.Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.QUALIFICATIONS::Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.Minimum fouryears of production management experience with an organization of similar size and scope.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and make decisions under pressure.Well-rounded knowledge across all stagecraft disciplines with a specific focus on wardrobe lighting audio video and rigging.Proficiency with Google Suite or MS Office and an ability to learn new software systems as needed.Experience working with Propared or other production planning and booking softwares.Valid drivers license and ability to drive cargo vans.Proven track record of success in performing arts production management at various sized venuesDetail-oriented with strong supervisory management and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as a team leader with student and professional hires.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to thrive in a team-based environment.Committed to the mission vision and values of Montclair State University.Demonstrated history of fostering a work environment that is safe respectful and supportive.Availability to work a flexible and varying schedule including nights weekends and occasional holidays.PREFERRED:Ability to read and interpret CAD and theatrical documentation including: Drafting plans via AutoCAD or Vectorworks and Lightwright.Basic running skills and ability to make adjustments within show files for QLab.Experience working in a university environment.Ability to work with all levels of students faculty and performers/presenters from novice to professionals.Interest in exploring new technologies.Bi-Lingual/multilingual.PROCEDURE FOR CANDIDACY:Applicants should include a resume and cover letter describing how their background skills and education match the needs of the University.
