Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Criminal Justice Contractor plays a key role in XP Synergy Companies community outreach and educational programs. The contractor mostly interacts with program participants in a correctional facility. These group or classroom settings teach participants work related skills that will prepare them to acquire and maintain a career-oriented job. Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of a Program Director, Program Coordinator, and administrative staff, the Criminal Justice Contractor will deliver lessons from the Opportunity Now contextualized curriculum which allows participants to develop necessary life skills, explore their abilities and career options, and prepare for employment.Responsibilities:Based on existing contextualized curriculum, prepare lesson plans by adapting those already created with engaging activities and exercises that illustrate the point of the lesson.Monitor participants' compliance with attendance and progress through participant observation tool. Report any individual consumer issues to the Program Coordinator on a weekly basis.Be responsible for the quality of the program being presented, student discipline, classroom maintenance, safety, behavior management and the security of all individuals and supplies at their disposal.Work with management and administrative staff to set high and measurable goals for student achievement.Adapt teaching style and strategies to maximize student learning and retention.Provide students with professional one-on-one feedback regarding their performance in the program.Maintain classroom documentation based on assignments from contextualized curriculum and enter data appropriately and accurately, as necessary. This includes but is not limited to goals and career assessments, worksheets, and cover letters.Accurately complete and submit monthly reports and attendance sheets to Program Coordinator by the last class day of each month.Assist with the job development and career placement for applicable participants This position will be assigned to work inside a correctional facility.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAt least 2 years of career development, criminal justice, social services, or teaching experience.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to work with a variety of populations, including incarcerated adults, ex-offenders, and individuals with disabilities.Independent, creative, self-starter who exhibits good judgment.Flexible and adaptable.Highly organized and works well with others.Must have reliable transportation.*This contract position will allow for 8-13 hours per week.*This position offers both daytime and evening opportunities for work. Job Types: ContractHourly Rate: $30.00- $50.00 per hour (based off experience, qualifications, and professionalism)
