We are seeking an experienced Intensivist who has a skillset managing VV/VA ECMO patients to join our team at St David’s and Heart Hospital of Austin. Phenomenal people to work with, day shifts only, in downtown Austin!

Local Team Collaboration:

  • St David’s Medical Center is a comprehensive stroke center and referral center for neurosurgery and neurovascular. We have a 24-bed med/surg ICU with a 16 bed Neurocritical Care Unit.
  • We have excellent relationships with consulting services like IR, Neurology, Anesthesia, and Cardiology.
  • VV ECMO program
  • St. David’s Medical Center was also recognized by Healthgrades in March 2025 among America's 100 Best Hospitals for critical care based on 16 of the most common specialty care areas. Recipient hospitals represent the top 2% of hospitals for each specialty.
  • Heart Hospital of Austin is a Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital by IMB Waston Health that has a 14 bed CVICU. Advanced Heart Failure Program with growing VA ECMO service.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO).
  • Active Texas license preferred
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting.
  • Experience working with advanced heart failure patients, VA/VV ECMO, and LVAD. Preferably 2-3 years of practicing experience as a BC Intensivist.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • Day shifts only with minimal call from home when working at Heart Hospital. 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule.
