An opportunity is available for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Cumming, Georgia. The role involves providing night shift coverage in the ICU.
About the Opportunity:
- Hybrid or Remote: Local candidates only
- Shift: Night shift
- Schedule: Flexible
- Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. (3x12s weekly)
- Setting: Intensive Care Unit
Responsibilities:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
- Managing 10-15 critically ill ICU patients per shift in collaboration with attending MD.
- Conducting assessments, ordering/interpreting diagnostics, and implementing interventions.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary rounds and ensuring consistent communication with nursing staff.
- Documenting H&Ps, consults, follow-up, event notes, and procedures in Cerner EMR.
- Performing ICU procedures including central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, introducers) and arterial line insertions.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of APP experience in ICU/critical care required
- ACNP certified or PA with Georgia state license
- Proficiency in ICU procedures
- Strong clinical judgment
- Adaptability
- Communication skills
Desired Skills:
- 1-2 years of additional ICU experience
- Advanced nursing or physician assistant degree
- Extra certifications in critical care, if any
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Teamwork
