Job DescriptionHybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren MI GM Global Technical Center or Mountain view technical Center Mountain View CA three times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the businessRESPONSIBILITIES:Understand the Automotive Software IT industry and the long-term direction GM software is headed.Ability to work effectively cross functionally both internally and externally and build relationshipsDetermine viable suppliers for technology requirementsDevelop and manage supplier under the guidance of quality service technology and price negotiations. This includes sound understanding of deadlines required lead times supplier contracts and application types.Active participation with key stakeholders including engineering IT business stakeholder legal and security.Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines.Adheres to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.Negotiate price terms and other items to complete full contract package.-Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing process to manage Sourcing packages.Develop benchmarking for each sourcing package.Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performanceProven competence in negotiating skillsProfessional interpersonal verbal and written communication skillsThis job may be eligible for relocation benefits.Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)5 years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing supply chain program/product management engineering logistics or product developmentData Judgement- Ability to objectively analyze data and draw meaningful conclusionsInformative Communication- Ability to communicate relevant information to the appropriate audience both effectively and timelyRelationship Management- Develops and maintains constructive cooperative working relationshipsNegotiation- engage in collaborative discussions to reach meaningful agreementsAnalytical Thinking- Consider various factors in decision making to determine solutions and their impactsResults Focus- Take charge without prompting seize opportunities and deliver on timeWorkload Management- Manage multiple tasks with quality and prioritize by critical needsSAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systemsAbility to travel 10% of the time domestically InternationallyPreferred Qualifications:Automotive industry experienceKnowledge of procurement softwareRequires strong strategic thinking and leadership skillWith the ability to collaborate across platforms with cross-functional teamProvide strategic directionDemonstrate strong execution skills.Engineering background with Software purchasing experience is preferred.Understand basic engineering documentsSolid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes.High level knowledge about Software/ technologyNegotiation skillsGM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
