Your best is waiting to be discovered.Rotating - 12 Hour (United States of America)This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewAssists the modality supervisor with the overall supervision and direction of the technical and ancillary personnel within the section. Responsible for producing quality CT images following established departmental and QA protocols using independent judgment and initiative. Ability to perform general and specialized CT procedures which meet the departments standard of quality. Capable of organizing work priorities and adjusting as circumstances require. Performs related duties as accordance with CICARE the Coordinator treats patients staff physicians and the general public in a friendly courteous and helpful manner. Incorporates the concepts of the Mission and Vision into practice.LocationsStanford Health CareWhat you will doDemonstrates knowledge and ability to produce quality images following established departmental and QA protocols to include scan techniques views positioning proper labeling and patient ID.Ensures ALARA safe practices are followed consistently.Works with the CT Director to develop CT safety policies and practices that will ensure SHC is achieving the highest standards in CT safety for patients employees staff and equipment.Participates in the orientation and training of assigned staff students residents and faculty.Helps train new CT team members on imaging techniques and protocols.Teaches CT and Ancillary staff about CT safety using established SHC guidelines.Assists the CT Directors and section Supervisor in developing and maintaining an in-service program.Provides in-service training on a regular basis to the CT team.Participates and ensures establishment of an optimal CT QA program that involves the radiologists and technologists in order to achieve ideal image quality.Reviews any reported QA discrepancies in coordination with the CT supervisor and Director/Co-Director.Works with the technologists to teach train and understand the established SHC protocols and imaging techniques.Maintains CT protocols on all scanners including periodic review of the protocols with the CT Director as well as each Section Chief and CT SupervisorWorks with the Director CT Supervisor Section Chiefs and Radiologists to update protocols and ensures all technologists are informed of any changes.Maintains open communication with the CT technologists ensuring all technical staff is informed of changes additions and/or deletions of protocols and procedures.Demonstrates effective time management skills completes all tasks as assigned.Coordinates with team members of other sections/departments with regard to patient and/or staff related issues.Reports problems concerning staffing requirements work methods staff morale etc. and recommends solutions as appropriate to supervisor.Properly troubleshoots equipment failures and reports to the appropriate individual.Utilizes proper body mechanics to ensure patient safety upon moving and/or transferring patient.Ability to recognize and respond to allergic reactions to contrast media.Accurately and appropriately performs quality control on equipment ensuring all appropriate records are kept as required.Acts as a coach and positive model for staff and colleagues.Education Qualifications Associates degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Experience Qualifications Three (3) years Computed Tomography (CT) modality experience setting. Required Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesFunctions effectively as a team player. (Provides unsolicited assistance to team members shares knowledge and information with coworkers) When assigned duties/tasks are completed seeks extra duties/tasks to assist in work area. Maintains patient and employee confidentiality. Uses shredder bins for printed confidential patient sensitive information. Demonstrates proper protocols for use of log-in and logging out of computer systems. Reviews task sets priorities and revises workflow for effectively facilitating customer and departmental needs. Demonstrates effective use of time and conforms to overtime practices. Identifies problem situations considering all perspectives in terms of scope and consequences and directs to appropriate level. Demonstrates ability to work with and accept any customer regardless of race gender life-style religious or cultural beliefs. Follows established department and hospital guidelines for attendance. Follows established department and hospital guidelines for Dress Code. Sets goals documents progress and strives to achieve goals set. Follows hospital and department safety guidelines for self patients visitors and employees and contributes to maintaining a safe work environment. Follows hospital infection prevention policies and procedures. Licenses and CertificationsARRT-CT - Certified ARRT in CT . BLS - Basic Life Support . California Radiologic Tech (CRT): Certified by the State of California Department of Health Services in Diagnostic Radiology . VEN - Venipuncture Cert .
