Custodial, Maintenance and Security Associate at University of Tennessee

DescriptionThe University of Tennessee at Martin Somerville Center is currently accepting applications for a custodian and security associate. This is a full-time position with benefits.ResponsibilitiesDuties:Performing various custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for faculty staff students and visitors.Managing supplies including receiving stocking and maintaining inventory.Setting up and taking down for special events.Cleaning floors windows walls and other assigned areas.Managing trash control and emptying trash containers.Performing groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.Operating maintenance equipment such as mowers.Securing and unlocking the center and providing safety supportReporting safety concerns to the immediate supervisor.Completing work orders.Assist with basic technology support and serve as IT support facilitator as needed.Performs other duties as directed.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or the equivalent. Six months of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education training and experience.Valid drivers license.Ability to operate maintenance equipmentAbility to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructionsAbility to make routine decisions independentlyAbility to use cleaning equipment and chemicalsAbility to work well with othersAbility to take direction and sustain long periods of light to moderate heavy physical activity.Must possess working knowledge of light-duty maintenance issues (ex. changing light bulbs painting etc.).Must have a good work and attendance record.
