Custodial ServicesCoe College is seeking qualified candidates for a position in Custodial Services. This position is responsible for the manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of buildings. Employees are under immediate supervision and perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength. Typical duties include but are not limited to: dust mopping waxing cleaning restrooms removing trash polishing furniture and simple operation of basic mechanical cleaning equipment and supervision of student workersEssential Job Responsibilities:Dustmop sweep wet mop spray-buff and topcoat floorsVacuum and bonnet clean rugs and carpets as neededVacuuming of furniture and drapes as neededScrub and clean restroom floors and fixturesSupply building restrooms with towels soap etc.Dust and clean walls doors windows and other above floor surfacesClean elevators and stairwellsKeep simple records and simple reportsNotify supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repairReplace any incandescent light bulbs that are accessible with a step ladder - maximum ladder height of 6 feet Snow shoveling a path to the buildingPerform related work as assigned and instructedOperate electrical floor bufferNon-routine work: This is manual labor associated with the recurring but non-routine cleaning and maintenance of buildings. Employees will be under immediate supervision performing tasks requiring moderate physical strength. This work is project type in nature and is paid $.40/hour premium pay.Total stripping and refinishing of floors (includes moving of equipment when necessary)Carpet shampooing - total cleaningRelated work as assigned and instructedQualifications:Shall have a high school diploma GED and/or combination of years of experienceTraining that may be gained through schools seminars etc. and some experience in performing cleaning work and other combination of training and experience.Ability to accomplish the above tasks as determined by a written and practical test.Applicants must be currently authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States as we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Successful completion of a background and driver check in accordance with Coe College policy.Knowledge Skills and Competencies:Position Specific:Knowledge of cleaning materials methods and equipmentAbility to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strengthAbility to operate all cleaning equipmentAbility to follow oral and written instructions in the performance of the jobAbility to establish and maintain working relations with supervisor fellow workers and studentsCoe Competencies:Dedication to the educational mission of a private residential liberal arts college.Ability to maintain positive relationships in a collaborative and diverse team atmosphere.Commitment to excellent customer and/or student service.Demonstrated ethical and responsible decision making.Consistent attendance and accountability necessary to meet position objectives.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Basic custodial duties in variety of building atmospheres.
