Job Description
Custodian - Boeckman Creek Primary SchoolThis is an 8 hour/day 12 month position under the Classified Bargaining Agreement for an Evening Custodian. The start date is as soon as possible.DEFINITIONUnder the supervision of the Facilities Manager Custodian Lead or Engineer and receives direction from the Custodial Supervisor plans and personally performs assigned routine cleaning work as required.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSThis position is an entry level position into the custodian field takes direction from the Engineer or Custodial Supervisor and is given a work schedule to follow. Evening Custodian.EXAMPLES OF DUTIESSweeps scrubs waxes and polishes concrete linoleum tile and wood floors; vacuums rugs and carpets in school offices and rooms; cleans and dusts walls furniture woodwork and equipment; picks up paper and other refuse on grounds; sweeps walks and entrances; washes scrubs and disinfects restrooms; cleans windows door panels and drinking fountains; cleans and polishes any metal work such as hand railings empties and cleans waste containers; assists in moving chairs tables desks furniture and other furnishings; replaces light bulbs; maintains equipment used in the course of work; performs special custodial work upon request of faculty members with supervisors approval; reports safety sanitary and fire hazards to proper authority; may perform routine grounds keeping duties and be responsible for locking doors and windows turning out lights and securing building as assigned. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of:Modern cleaning methods and use care and safety of cleaning materials and equipment;Blood borne pathogen and current in all other federal and state required training.Ability to:Read write and follow oral and written instructions with little supervision;Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill efficiency and safety;Perform heavy duty labor;Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students fellow employees and the general public;Maintain confidentiality in all phases of work i.e. records meetings parent rights etc.Routinely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and over 50 pounds with assistance;Use and navigate computer technology;Complete all district required training.Experience:Previous experience in custodial work.Education:High school diploma or equivalent as required by Oregon Administrative Rules Oregon Department of Education.Benefits:The West Linn-Wilsonville School District offers a competitivebenefitspackage including District-paid6% PERS retirement contribution Medical Dental and Vision insurance an Employee Assistance Program andProfessional Development & Tuition Reimbursement(prorated based on FTE).For a full list ofbenefitsoffered to our employees please clickhere.Please note Classified employees must work a minimum of .5 FTE to be eligible for staff are not eligible for Professional Development & Tuition Reimbursement.Community and District Information:The West Linn-Wilsonville School District is nestled within two thriving cities West Linn and Wilsonville within the rural area of Clackamas County.
