Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:The National WWII Museum is currently seeking Custodians. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Custodian position performs daily and/or nightly duties as communicated by the on-duty supervisor: Director of Facilities, the Assistant Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker, or Lead Custodian.Requirements:Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules.Perform special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks.Ensure engraved bricks are well maintained and clean.Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibit repairs.Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed.Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Lead Custodian.Qualifications:Physical ability to perform manual work.Minimum of six months experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service, or other related work.Familiarity with cleaning procedures.Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment.Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.Regular and reliable attendanceWillingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.In addition to offering competitive wages, the Museum’s benefits package includes: Medical insurance – 2 plan options; Museum pays 75% of premium Dental and vision insurance Flexible spending account 401(k) – Museum matches 50% of employee contribution up to 6%; employer contribution full vested after 3 years of employment Life insurance and AD&D - $15,000 policy employer paid; additional life and AD&D available Long term disability insurance Paid vacation and sick leave, 10 paid holidays per year Free parking Tuition assistance and professional development Employee assistance program The National WWII Museum is an equal opportunity employer and seeks diversity in its workforce.
