JOB DESCRIPTION
Claims Coordinator
Collect, compile and ensure completion of all of company's global cargo, property and inventory claim activity and related risk management issues. Prioritize claim workload, assess severity of claim issues and escalate or delegate the task as situation requires. Ensure that claim notification, claim filing, and customer-facing procedures optimize customer experience, deliver the purple-promise, minimize company's liability and maximize its opportunity to recover optimal settlements from insurers and liable entities. Measure, analyze and improve loss & damage performance related to global transportation business.
Coordinate the receipt and distribution of all centralized claim files received globally. Ensure timely and appropriate risk-mitigating attention is given to each case by assessing severity of each issue with ensuing prioritization of the workload. Mitigate risk by analyzing root cause of claim activity for all lines of coverage. Collaborate with cross-functional teams as appropriate to identify trends and recommend corrective action. Measure results and compile vendor performance metrics. Communicate claim status to customers and internal stakeholders, verbally and in writing. Analyze customers' loss performance. Attend calls with customers to review performance. Complete customer-required reports. Work closely with legal and security as needed to improve claim and litigation outcomes. Monitor insurance and risk management issues affecting our industry and suggest policies and action plans where appropriate. Measure and monitor loss ratio to improve annual premium stability. Develop, maintain and perform training programs for employees that minimize liability while complying with international and industry regulations and conventions. Negotiate with insurance brokers and insurers to maximize the benefit of insurance coverage. Update and maintain claims procedures on the intranet. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of 2 years of multimodal freight forwarding experience and carrier liability experience are required. Additionally, strong analytical skills are required for successful loss mitigation which involves analyzing root cause of claim activity, identifying trends, and recommending and implementing corrective action. Excellent organizational skills as well as strong verbal & written communication skills are required. Strong negotiation skills for contract negotiation and claim settlements is required. Database & technical skills, as well as ability to decipher global claim documentation in foreign languages are preferred. Insurance knowledge is preferred. Some travel required.
Pay: $4,929.36 - $7,886.98 USD Monthly Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Remote)
