Job Description

Summary:Performs physical counts of inventory items stored in the warehouse. Records each count determines paperwork cutoffs and compares final count to the Systems on-hand balance. Utilizes all available information to define root cause of all discrepancies. Publishes statistical and performance-related reports and performs the following essential duties and responsibilities. Duties:1. Performs physical counts throughout the Warehouse in accordance with a predetermined cycle counting schedule. 2. Screens all inventory-related documentation to establish appropriate cut-off dates and account for unprocessed paperwork. 3. Compares actual physical count to the System inventory records and identifies discrepancies. 4. Performs an investigation and analysis by evaluating all available information(i.e computerized inventory records)5. Compiles data to identify number of physical counts taken number of discrepancies root causes etc. and publishes report for distribution to all interested parties.6. Monitors on-hand balances for non-inventory items such as shipping supplies pallets packaging materials etc. and prepares requisitions orders or other documents for purchasing or requisitioning additional items. 7. Generates reports from Inventory Control records to identify slow-moving non-moving excess or obsolete inventories and recommends disposition such as scrap or relocation. 8. Acts as a functional resource in support of the Manufacturing process on an as needed basis responds to requests for materials by locating the items required removing them from the warehouse delivering the items to production floor and initiating and processing the transactional paperwork. 9. Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time. Education and Experience:1-5 years prior experience in a Warehouse Distribution Center or Inventory Control Department. Previous experience with formal cycle counting processes is desirable. The knowledge of how to operate Microsoft office suites including Excel. Skills:Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions and procedure manuals. Requires the ability to use simple arithmetic simple formulas charts and schedules. Ability to maintain and understand records. Ability to get along with coworkers and work in a team environment.
