The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (INI ) are world leaders in the development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function. LONIs unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting-edge resources allow for integration of clinical psychological and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology psychiatry and developmental neurobiology.The Laboratory of Neuro Imaging has been at the forefront of neuroimaging research for almost three decades and maintains a large research data repository through which thousands of scientists obtain data to study normal development aging and disease progression. Our team is dedicated to making a difference through improving access to neuroscience research data.We are looking for a full-time Data Analysis manager with extensive experience in leading ETL data mapping and data modeling team activities. This individual will play a vital role in expanding our informatics systems and facilitating research into neurological diseases and disorders.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform and supervise efforts to:Profile source data and create source-to-target data mappingsPerform data quality/integrity checks matching pre- and post-mapped dataIdentify & address problems that may impact data mapping/data integrationPerform data modeling and data manipulation using SQL and rules-based languagesDocument and communicate progress problems and related issuesImplement best practices in data quality and meta data managementAssist with database maintenance tasksSKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESSolid knowledge of database structures theories principles and practicesAbility to read write execute and evaluate SQL stored procedures functions and triggersWorking knowledge of UNIX and experience writing shell scriptsFamiliarity with data integration strategiesAbility to create monitor and execute test scriptsStrong analytical problem solving and organizational skillsExperience with programming languages such as Java a plusEffective verbal and written communication skillsGood time management and organization skills with an attention to detailREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONSExperience supervising data analystsExperience working with complex data models and data relationshipsPrevious experience performing data profiling data mapping and metadata managementStrong database design and SQL skillsDemonstrated understanding of data model entities and their relationshipsExpertise in data harmonizationMinimum Education: Bachelors degree is required (Computer Science or Informatics preferred)The annual base salary range for this position is up to $142000.
