Data Analyst I Genetics Genomics (Peter Lab) at Mount Sinai Health System

DescriptionThe Data Analyst I is responsible for implementing best information technology data management practices in an effort to improve and ensure quality streamline data cleaning efforts and deliver analyzable databases within agreed upon project timelines.A data analyst/bioinformatician position is available in the laboratory to investigate the genetic genomic and systems-level factors contributing to the risk and progression of complex human diseases. The successful candidate will apply statistical computational and bioinformatics approaches to analyze large-scale genetic genomic and clinical datasets. The ultimate goal is to identify genes pathways and molecular networks underlying relevant traits and comorbidities and to support biomarker discovery and drug repurposing efforts.ResponsibilitiesIntegrate and analyze diverse genetic genomic and clinical data to uncover pathways associated with complex diseases.Apply statistical and computational methods for large cohort analyses.Engage in independent problem solving using established and emerging scientific and statistical frameworks.Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating research environment.QualificationsBachelors degree in computer science statistics and/or related field or combination of equivalent work experience and education.
